so we're down to the final four. if this is college basketball, it's almost the same like the final. Portugal, Holland (yay!!), Czech Republic and Greece. take your pick, armchair supporters, for the football fiesta and sleepless nights are almost over. it'll be almost 2 months until the start of next season...so there's an excuse to watch Akademi Fantasia..hehhee...
most of the games so far have been great, with a few suprises along the way. it's been a roller coaster ride...and now is not definitely the time to abandon the ride. just to get a feel of what's coming in the semis...here's a preview of what's left to expect..
Portugal vs Holland
so they're the hosts..so i supported them against england...so what?? sentiments count for little as the oranje squad battle it to emulate the great team of van basten, gullit and rijkaard. this is a hard one to call. both sides play attractive attacking football and goals should be aplenty to aid those drowsy eyes at 3am. the portuguese will be counting on home support to help their cause, but the dutch won't be lying down on their backs (even though sometimes they look like they are). so expect a cracker...or blame the 22 players....heh..
Stone's prediction: i won't be bias...but i have a feeling the dutch will crush scolari's men. yeahhhhh!!! go holland!! ermmm..who says i'm bias? 1-0 to the oranje.. single goal by the lone horseman...van nistelrooy
Czech Republic vs Greece
everyone expects the czech to 'do the job' and get their butts in the final, but i guess the romantics in us will hope that the greece will do a denmark and go on and win the final. but really laaa...greece? i can't even name 2 players from their squad. if they do go on and win this...mannn..i can't even imagine that!!
Stone's prediction: czech to win it 2-0, it's czech mate for the greeks, they return home to help out preparations for the olympics...hehhee
Euro Cup Final
Holland vs Czech Republic
yesss..the dream final. holland will bury the '88 cup success story. hattrick by the ruud man, but closely answered by a double from milan baros. it's a neck to neck tie. holland takes the early lead, then baros strikes back. another blunder by van der sar makes it 2 for baros. ruud answers by converting a penalty after arjen robben is fouled in the box. we go to extra time...ruud scores just before the 1st interval from a trademark scramble in the box. the dutch lifts the cup, nistelrooy makes a lucrative move to Real Madrid, DICK advocaat flashes his thingy to the dutch media and roman abrahamovich considers buying the whole Czech squad. ahhhhh...don't u love football?

magnificent. that's the one word i'll use if asked to describe last night's Euro Quarterfinal between england and portugal. this year's Euro has certainly been nice to me. of all the games that i have stayed up for...none have been dissapointing. it's like everyone's trying to outdo each other to see who has the best match. yesterday's match was the creme de la creme. kudos to england and portugal for making it such a memorable game. free flowing football, end to end stuff, last minute goal and a nail-biting finish. all the ingredients for a great match.
i was rooting for portugal last night. england's media and all the hype about the team, especially the rooney kid and his comparisons with the great pele (what??!!) was just too much. so i betrayed the country that taught me the love for the game. lagipun i had sentiments for the so-called Golden Generation of portugal. this is their swan song. it's do or die. on home soil..this is the best chance that they got. or else..it's just another 'has been' team like the Eusebio era. another great team with nothing to show for.
you've probably read all the reports and articles about this game. this is my viewpoint:
Man of the match
this is a tough one. the english midfield was great, ronaldo was creating havoc on the flanks...i can't tell who came out tops. so i'll give it to both teams for making 3.00am not that sleepy for a tired guy like me.
Goal of the match
of the 4 goals scored during full time, rui costa's screamer that thumped inside the post was awesome. nothing clamity james could do about that.
Reaction of the match
Sven Goran's face when postiga scored the equalizer. rare show of emotion from the iceman. priceless...
Quote of the match
martin tyler commentating on ricardo pumping the crowd after postiga's equalizer.."Come on portugal, or the portuguese equivalent of it."
What the **** are you doing award
The great figo substituted in the closing moments of the game. they were trailing 1-0 then...nasib baik postiga score. figo's face showed it all.
Big payoff award
Both substitutes scored for Portugal. now that's a great gamble. the same couldn't be said about england's substitution though...
I ran out of steam award
owen hargreaves for falling to the ground after a great run dribbling thru the portuguese midfield...aiyohhhhh
Balls of steel award
postiga's cheeky penalty kick in the shootout. i coudn't imagine what he was thinking. if he failed to score, england would have won. it was do-or-die for portugal, the crowd was standing still, millions of people were holding their breath and what did he do? simple...chip it into the net...even cheekier than ibrahimovich's back heel..
Best Jonny Wilkinson impersonation
David beckham kicking the ball into the upper tier for england's first penalty miss. it looked a lot better than the slip in turkey though...
let's hope for more great games to come. come on oranje!!

i have a confession to make. i know that i'll be the butt of jokes of my fellow peers, the laughing stock of the party and be the victim of slurs from other strangers. yep, u know it...
i watch Akademi Fantasia.
so there. have mercy on me as a few millions of my fellow countrymen can't go wrong. well...they might be.
but the reality is...a lot of us watch it. mengaku je la, whether u like it or not. i wouldn't call myself a fan...just a common follower. meaning? i just watch the show once a week on saturday nights. i do NOT know bob's favourite meal...i do NOT know what colour zarina likes (though she's kinda cute). fact is...i hardly remember their names. but..i'm attracted to the show anyhow. it's a love hate relationship. yup..i love to hate watching it. the oh-so-corny lines, streotype malay dialogue and emotional drama is sometimes bad for the stomach, but fun nonetheless. try it and see...hehhehe..
what really makes me sick is how Astro is squeezing every single tiny drop of the AF juggernaught. tak cukup diorang replay last season's final a million times, they're selling the VCD, collectibles and other money-making trash called merchandising. this season they really pumped it up with interactive menus and a chat space so u can eat, breathe and smell like the AF people 24-7. who needs a life, right?
just last saturday..i caught up wit my first AF concert. okay...so waiting for Aznil to read out the name on the envelope was a bit suspenseful...but i went berzerk when he said that no one was voted out this week. which means...2 weeks in a row that no one has got the boot, which means an extra week of Akademi Fantasia, which means $$$$$ for good ol' Astro. smart people they are...see what i mean by squeezing every last drop of this AF thing?
so who'll get kicked off this week? who knows..maybe they'll keep all of them until the finale. i'm starting to feel sick already...

so yesterday the world celebrated Father's Day. and where was i? nowhere near my father, that's for sure. i didn't actually forget. i knew it was Father's Day this sunday, so that kinda added to my sense of guilt. oh well...just becoz of one day doesn't make my father less than the man he is, and it doesn't make my love for him lessen in any way. it's the thought that matters, right? (i've always thought of this as a lame excuse so u don't feel bad about something...hehe)
Papa..the man i've always looked up upon since i was a kid. when i was younger, i didn't really know what he did. all i know is that he works in an office at the Seremban Lake Gardens. i knew he was somebody allrite...by the way he dresses to work. but what he did i never really cared as long as GI Joe and the Transformers were on TV. huh..spoiled brat...
of course, as i got older i learned about what he did and knew more about him. from knowing him, i learned a lot about life and the man i knew as Papa. this strengthened my respect and love for him, even though sometimes i feel that he may be a bit irrational at times, or was it just my teenage angst lashing out? i dunno...hard to tell the difference...maybe a little bit of both..
my father wasn't the 'TV sitcom dad' kind. he was very strict and showed his love in ways only those who know him can tell. my mom used to tell me that he NEVER changed our diapers when we were pissing and shitting in our Pampers. even the way he handled babies looks a bit awkward....hehehhe..kelakar lak bila aku fikir. cayalah Pa...good example of the dominant male species.
so he wasn't the textbook daddy type, but that didn't make him a lesser parent to any one of us. like i've mentioned before...my mom and dad makes a good balance as parents. if mama provided the warmth and cosiness of a mother's love, then papa provided the strictness and discipline so we won't get carried away. his thundering voice aje dah cukup buat aku gerun dah. u do not want to make him angry....
i knew he loved us but sometimes i feel that he overprotects us too much. one event that stands out is his decision not to let me go on a hiking trip to Gunung Korbu. boy...i was pissed. maybe it was a blessing in disguise. who knows?? but what i do no is that i haven't climbed a mountain ever since. skang ni dah besar pun..my urge to go hiking is already gone. malas2 je....
but because of him...i've been lucky to experience places i've never knew, people i've never met and environments i've never felt before. he really gave me an eye-opener on the world and the people that live in it. his views on politics and current events really strike me, but now that i'm older...i've learned to disagree with a few of them. my arguments with him are somewhat funny and would drag on with me just listening to him talking. talk about democracy...hehehehehe...
i love to hear him give his views on current events. pernah sekali tu aku suruh dia apply masuk ISIS...at least whatever i hear over the dinner table can be put into good use, rather than 'masuk telinga kiri keluar telinga kanan'. he declined...saying his no-hold-barred attitude is gonna land him in hot soup. somehow..i felt that might be true.
if there's one thing that i inherited from my father, it would have to be that sense of rebellion and tendency to disagree with people. though he's an UMNO supporter, UMNO is never safe from his comments and critic. trust me on this. whatever he didn't like, he'd say it. i guess that's why most of his students are scared of him...hehehhehe...
i've always wanted to come to one of his lectures just to see how it is. somehow...this never materialised and something i think will never happen. it just feels awkward, that's all.
that's just a sprinkle from the bigger picture that is my father. he's always been my hero, not the Jedi knight with the light saber, just the one sitting on his favourite sofa reading today's newspaper. that's my father...happy Papa's day...

well, well...how much difference a day makes. yesterday i was rambling about the snatch thieves and how sialan they are. today...a girl was honored for nabbing a snatch thief. even i didn't get the chance to nab one when i had the chance. power sehhh...
THAT'S the kind of news i want to greet me in the morning. not another person found dead/murdered/cheated on. and especially NOT a headline screaming 'Mulut Penuh Dengan Mani'. good thing it's an afternoon paper. takde la shock sangat. if it's before lunch...maybe i'd skipped it.
it's good to hear someone getting rewarded for a kind deed they did. these are our everyday heroes. THESE are the people we should get our kids to follow. not justin, not britney and certainly NOT the Osbournes.
maybe we should have some sorta annual event where we honor these so-called 'unsung heroes'. in malaysia..i don't think that's hard to find. u know..the guy who queues up at the bus stop, the girl who gets up to offer her seat to the old lady, the cashier who smiles and helps u carry the bags to your car. wow...now that would be something.
but when u think about it...some of these things are so normal in certain places on this planet. what does that mean? ntah laaa..maybe we malaysians are from another planet. now THAT would explain a lot....
o this message was brought to you by The Narrator @ 6:10 PM
such a sad sight in the morning. bummer, i thought. i was referring to the front page of The Star today. they showed the picture of the kids of the lady who died after a snatch theft incident. mannnn...they don't even know the meaning of death yet. just for a lousy few dollars...somebody had to die. is it really worth it? gile apa...u shouldn't ask this question in the first place.
on a more personal note...my mom was once a victim of snatch thieves too. it happened in JB a couple of years back. syukur Alhamdulillah...she wasn't hurt. she was just a bit shaken. aku pun rasa bersalah gak...i was walking in front of her about 50 meters. she was with my sister on our way back to the hotel. i should have stayed closer...at least the guy could have had second thoughts. (but looking at my body...maybe not)
it was all sudden. i was walking quickly..tak sabar nak balik hotel to get some much needed sleep. tetiba dengar my sister screaming...
when i turned...i saw my mom was on her knees and these 2 assholes on a motorcycle speeding away from them. instinctively...i gave chase la. i thought they were heading towards me, but they made a turn at this junction just before they reached me. aku pun dengan gaya konon bruce-willis-in-die-hard pun mengejar la. reality check...they're on a motorcycle...i'm on foot. u do the maths. the only thing i caught was the smell of smoke. heyy...at least i tried, ok?
kesian mak aku. i was really pissed off, but what could i do? plate number pun tak dapat. so i could imagine how it is for snatch victims, except the one in the paper didn't live to tell the tale.
are we really desperate for money these days? seriously...do people actually carry a million bucks in their handbags? what is it that they want? credit card? valid laa..for a couple of minutes! habis kuat pun u could get a couple of hundred dollars. if u're lucky, that is. and don't count urself lucky if u're a thief. big mistake.
but that's it, isn't it? a couple of bucks for one man may be a million to another. hari tu on Radio 4, the guys on the big breakfast show pleaded for people to not over-react when nabbing a snatch thief. "hand him over to the authorities and don't take matters into your own hands", they said. i say...FUCK IT. beat the crap out of the guy. just don't kill him. give him a reminder everytime he thinks of getting that quick, easy money. i think a broken nose will do just fine.

i'd like to conratulate the pistons for winning the NBA championship this morning. i am in awe. seriously. when the finals matchup paired the Lakers vs. Pistons, i was thinking....what?? pistons? another ring on shaq's finger la tahun ni. how wrong i was.
seriuosly....sapa star yang pistons ada? richard hamilton? mamat tu bukan kena reject washington ke? ben wallace? afro dia lawa laaa..but can he play? compare that with the lakers. i like to call it the 'Dream Team' of the mid-90's. ye laaa...u got the dynamic duo of shaq and kobe. tetiba tahun ni tambah lak malone and gary payton. NBA veterans who still have something left in the tank. i thought only the San Antonio spurs could stop em, so when the Lakers beat them enroute to the Western Finals...i thought..yup, it's LA's year.
so i thought...until Game 1 when Detroit stunned everyone by winning at LA. hmmm...a fluke maybe? Game 2 they nearly got it if it wasn't for Kobe's heroics. and when the series shifted back to Detroit...it was game over. the only thing worth watching the Lakers was their cheerleaders. patut la diorang tak bole concentrate....hehhehe
so another season goes by...the only american sport i truly follow is the NBA. it's exciting, fast, emotional and apa2 tah lagi. i guess i caught up during the jordan years. aku rasa time tu lagi power...u got magic johnson, larry bird and the legend himself, MJ. tu pasal aku rasa team olympics basketball US '92 was really the Dream Team. lepas tu hampeh je..konon dream team.
the only thing that kinda sucks about watching the NBA is the live game. they usually play in the morning (malaysian time la). dulu masa student syok laaa..kul 8-9 pagi no hal punya. skang ni terpaksa tengok Yahoo baru bole tau the current score. oh well, like the tagline...I Love this game!

woooooo..today is a very relaxing day. i spent all day just browsing the net. bapak bestnya. this was nice after yesterday's chaos. semalam tender submission...so a bit kelam kabut jugak yesterday. dah la aku tak cukup tido tengok england france...mamai je buat keje. what the hell...as long dah siap..i've done my job. i guess that's one of the things i like about this job...u have breathing space. i don't mind working like shit, but i DO mind working like shit EVERYDAY. macam tempat lama aku dulu. everyday is another battle. u live to get to the next day. itu yang aku separuh nyawa tu...hehhehe..
the next tender is due in 2 weeks...tu pasal aku ambik masa tu. heyy...i'm a malay, we're suppose to be like that lah.
so tonite Holland vs. Germany. tolong la holland menang...gila bosan siot germans main. just like the italians too. but i guess that kind of play wins matches, but for the armchair supporter like me...go to hell lah. i wanna be entertained, not watching Kasparov vs. Blue something.
browsing the internet is like hitchhiking in a foreign country. u never know where u're gonna reach. sebab hari ni aku malas buat keje...i've discovered that the world is full of psychos and brainiacs. i discovered that u could order this Terrrorist cookbook, which is like a handbook for would-be terrorists. u just have to pay for the information. anyone can order...that's the beauty of it.
great...how many terrorists are we creating everyday? now...any ali, ah beng or gopal can just log on and blow up the KLCC towers. comforting thought, isn't it?
that's America for all of u. the home of the brave, land of the free. yeahhh..we want freedom...but not this kind of freedom??!! sometimes, whether u like it or not, the ISA is a very important tool. if we could do whatever the hell we damn well please, i think we could end up blowing up ourselves to death. of course we want democracy and freedom, but it has limits..and we're very, very lucky that Malaysia has these limits.
okay...back to work...i'm starting to sound like Hishamudin...eughhhhhh...
o this message was brought to you by The Narrator @ 4:43 PM
ughhhh...it's really a tiring day. mengantuk gile...can't wait to get home. ini semua gara2 Euro la nih. but yesterday's game was a blast. france vs. england, traditional rivals and a match to remember. tak menyesal aku stay up semalam.
yesterday's game reminded me of the champions league final of 1999 between Man Utd and Bayern Munich. kind of ironic since most of the England team were part of that Man U winning cup side. this time they're on the losers side. i guess now they know how it felt like for Bayern. but i guess...the importance is not that high. England could go on to qualify if they get good results after this match. at least ini bukan cup final..u still got a chance to bounce back.
puas hati gak tengok game semalam. for me...the french nampak mmg technically waayyy better than the english. cuma nampak mcm diorang nak score bergaya je. padan muka gak bila england score first. man...i thought...an upset on the cards.
but hold on...when the great wizard of Zidane gets in his stride..u know why he's one of the greatest to play the game. enuff about all the crap...zidane is the REAL deal. i'm a believer...
but i can't go on watching all the games on TV. mampos aku asyik tido kat ofis. but i hope the ones that i get the chance to see will be the good matches of the tournament. here's to all football maniacs out there who'll make taik mata at the office and wake up in the morning wondering why the hell our time zone tak sama dengan Europe. huh...

i'm sure most of u keep a diary or journal or whatever it is u scribble on once upon a time ago. i had a journal that we actually had to do as homework when i was in 4th grade. this was one of the entries i made then. punya aku tak tau nak tulis apa...aku tulis je shows yang aku tengok on TV. look at all the kiddie shows i watched, but a dose of Hellraiser and America's Most Wanted should be perfect for a 9 year old....hehhehehe...

so off we go again. the start of sleepy mornings at the office, late nights in front of the TV, and the end of boring nights for 30 days. yesss..another major football tournament is here. Euro 2004 kicks off in 2 days 8 hours and 50 minutes, according to Soccernet that is, at the time of writing.
and even though u're not a football fan, u're bound to notice thanks to all the hoopla created by our honorable sponsors. watch Euro and win! SMS and win! collect dumb bottle caps and win!! yesss...this world wouldn't even budge if it wasn't for adverstising. talking about ads, i love the carlsberg Euro commercial they play at the cinemas. not that i love carlsberg that is...just the ad, okay. yes...i too am guilty of being 'Part of the game'.
i guess the second major football tournament that people look forward to after the world cup, is the european championships. not that i'm degrading the Copa America, tapi come on laaa...kalo Ronaldo pun is skipping the Copa America to get a rest...i can't even imagine Henry missing the Euro coz he's going to the Bahamas. itu aje dah nampak the different level this tournament is.
but let's face the facts, more than half of the world's greatest players come from Europe. kalo world cup to qualifying based on rankings, mau world cup tu jadi European + Latin American Cup. asia? africa? north america? kiss ass lah...
and of course, since malaysia happens to be in Asia, and this is the EUROPEAN cup, i could be forgiven for supporting another nation. (padahal world cup ke, even asia cup pun, we'd be very, very lucky if we can support Malaysia)
and my country of choice? (jack sibuk suruh aku pilih satu team) the netherlands. yess, holland or the country with porno on TV or whatever u wanna call em. actually, i hope they get far after all the problems they're facing now. that's why i'm rooting for them, coz they're one of the favourites, but the team is in such a mess that it'll be a great comeback if they win this. honestly, i've always had a soft spot for England. yeah yeah, so they ruled us for more than a 100 years, but still..after growing up on a healthy diet of english league football and seeing the likes of linekar, gazza and barnes grace across the field, why wouldn't i support them? it's just that the English are soooo cocky, perasan terrer konon. look at their strikers dah laaa...rooney? heskey? they couldn't even play for France's second team. but marah2 pun...i wouldn't mind seeing them do well too...hehehehehe....
so it's off to portugal...who'll become the next big star? the one-time wonder? the hero? the fall guy? the fluke team? the greatest team? the world's best celebration? (sorry, couldn't help that..)

aisey...it's the 8th already. baru nak update my monthly tribute to the 1980an. i keep forgetting...hmmm..must be getting old. oh well...
i guess kids growing up in the 80's ought to be feeling pretty damn lucky that a piece of so-called toy that'll forever change the future and create its own empire was popularized. yes...the video game was a huge hit and will forever change the way we waste our time.
my first recollection of a video game was the black Atari with its single button joystick. it was first owned by a friend of mine and we were awed. petang2 abis skolah, singgah jap rumah dia for a round of Space invaders, Asteroid and of course...Donkey Kong. pergghhh...the pure joy of getting to the next level, rescuing the girl from the big ugly monkey (masa tu punya graphics...even the girl looked like a monkey). new terms were introduced...the 'Boss', the evil character u had to beat after a few levels and Bonus round...where u get to collect points. all this were pretty new back then, people were having fun playing with big dots on their screen. and donkey kong would be one of the great pioneers along with pac man.
and i also recall a Donkey kong cartoon show in the afternoon. actually, i don't recall that much...but my dad told me he had to wait for donkey kong to finish first baru boleh gerak from my aunt's house. hmmm...kecik2 dah pandai buat perangai. no wonder i'm like this...hehhehe...
we've come a loooonggg way since the days of donkey kong. this video game was what spawned the ever popular Super Mario bros. series.
the graphics nowadays are worlds apart from zaman tu. and as the days go by..i too have somehow lost interest (just a bit) in video games. but most guys are avid gamers...and i wouldn't blame them. syok apa sekali sekala blow up somebody to smithereens, race against Schumacher on the streets of Monaco or pull a fadeaway jumper on Kobe. with the games they have now, you can be anyone anyday. u just have to master the buttons. and somehow it all started with big dots on the screen...
o this message was brought to you by The Narrator @ 4:35 PM
hmmm...a lot of things happened over the weekend. in the world, i mean...not my life. i just sat there in front of the telly and watched it happened. ahhhh..the beauty of satelite TV, flip on the remote and u're moving from the african savannah to the bustling streets of New York. no wonder everyone's overweight...
anyhow...for the first time ever in my life, i paid attention to the Sukma games. well, not much really...just the football final. u could forgive me coz Negeri Sembilan won our first ever gold in football. that's the beauty of football, like Zainal Abidin Rawop said...it's only one gold medal...but it's worth far exceeds its weight. u could win all the medals in the Games, but the one that really mattered is the football gold. (well, according to us football maniacs that is). it's really great to support ur local team for a change, not some team from some far away place in the English countryside where they don't even know ur country exists. even though the standard of football isn't really high, it was enough to make me jump and scream like a madman in my living room. lama dah tak tengok Paroi packed to the brim...i guess everyone from Mantin to Rembau was there. that's the power of football...it's unites us in ways u never thought possible. aku penah kena angkat dengan sorang mamat indian ni masa FA cup final 2001 coz he was so happy Liverpool won and i was there to lend my support. (not that i'm a scouser, anyway...but ok la Liverpool menang dari Arsenal...)
and Sunday was the 50th Anniversary of D-Day. i've known D-Day since i was in school, but the impact and importance of the event never occured to me. since they're showing the documentaries and specials to commemorate the event...i learned a lot of stuff i never knew about D-Day. really was an eye-opener, and was something i really enjoyed knowing.
lastly...on sunday, ronald reagan died. even though i'm not really keen on American presidents..i guess he was the first American president i came to know about. aku kalo sebut Reagan ni teringat on his assasination attempt, the Iran-Contra affair and his rivalry with Gaddafi. itu la dia...another american president passing away, while fidel castro? well, he's still alive and still in power after all these years. brapa ramai americans nak dia mati..tapi kalo dah umur panjang, ko antar la B-52s ke, cuban exiles ke, puss in boots ke...if the time's not up yet, belum masa la tu. but one thing i respected about reagan is the way he handles his speeches. sheer class...not like some idiotic buffon like George W. macam budak darjah satu je. nasib baik dia naik skang, kalo time cold war macam time reagan, mau Soviet hantar nukes everyday to the US.
and that was how the world went thru the weekend. all thanks to the idiot box. and if u wanna escape the world, well...those scantily clad ladies on MTV certainly does help..

I can be an asshole of the grandest kind
I can withold like it's going out of style
I can be the moodiest baby
And you've never met anyone
As negative as I am sometimes
I am the wisest woman you've ever met
I'm the kindest soul with whom you've connected
I have the bravest heart that you've ever seen
And you've never met anyone
As positive as I am sometimes
You see everything
You see every part
You see all my light
And you love my dark
You dig everything
Of which I'm ashamed
There's not anything to which you can't relate
And you're still here
I blame everyone else, not my own partaking
My passive agressiveness can be devistating
I'm terrified and mistrusting
And you've never met anyone who's closed down as I am sometimes
You see everything
You see every part
You see all my light
And you love my dark
You dig everything
Of which I'm ashamed
There's not anything to which you can't relate
And you're still here
What I resist, persists, and speaks louder than I know
What I resist, you love, no matter how low or high I go
I am the funniest woman that you've ever known
I am the dullest woman that you've ever known
I am the most gorgeous woman that you've ever known
And you've never met anyone as everything as I am sometimes
You see everything
You see every part
You see all my light
And you love my dark
You dig everything
Of which I'm ashamed
There's not anything to which you can't relate
And you're still here
And you're still here
And you're still here
mannn...how could u not fall in love to that? lovely...

one thing i've noticed lately in KL is....nasi lemak is BIG business. almost at every corner, there'll be someone selling nasi lemak. on my way to work, there's no less than 7 stalls selling the coconut-enriched rice. when u think of it, why shouldn't anyone be selling nasi lemak? it's easy to prepare, easy to sell and almost everyone in the malaysian society consumes it. not bad for something so unhealthy actually...but aren't big macs and whoppers the same too?
nasi lemak is such a flexible diet. u can eat it almost any time of the day. whether it's day or night...nasi lemak is on the menu. masa mula2 masuk UM, aku agak pelik gak apehal la orang makan nasi lemah tgh2 malam. i've always known nasi lemak as a breakfast meal, so seeing people eat it at 11 pm kinda makes me wonder. actually it's nothing, nasi lemak Pantai Dalam tu siap tak bukak lagi pagi2...malam baru bisnes rancak.
preparation for nasi lemak is fairly easy too. u just have to get the sambal to taste good. everything else is just completing the course. and i guess people just hentam saja whether it tastes good or not. janji nasi lemak.
me? i'm kinda picky in my nasi lemak. i love mine in daun pisang...barulah syok. not the taste of polystyrene or old newspapers in my mouth. and anyways, it adds to the flavor.
all this talk about nasi lemak is making me kinda hungry. nasib baik dah lunch. so if u're hungry reading this, go get urself that nasi lemak around the corner. and if u're thinking about opening a business...well...maybe nasi lemak could be ur pot of gold.

just came back from my first tender submission at the petronas towers. it's nothing, really..just go there and hantar all the stuff. why not just fax it? senang citer...but the place is near and it provides a 'personal' touch to it. and besides, i've never been inside the KLCC towers, and ada chan sikit nak mengular...hehhehee...
sebenarnya, i was like this budak jakun from the outer boundaries of the malaysian jungle visiting Tower 2. it's like this super-ultra modern building. i'd just wish there were robots walking around just to add to my imagination.
so there i was, standing in front of the reception counter..exchanging my IC for the visitor pass. getting thru the front door was a challenge itself...mula2 cuak gak tak tau how the hell to swipe the bloody card.
relax...act natural...kacang je nih...
so dengan selambanya i went thru the door...got it thru on my first swipe...hahahahah..piece of cake, i thought.
then there was the elevator. nasib baik i noticed that each elevator was assigned to certain floors only. good thing i didn't just barge in...kalo tak, terkapai2 aku carik 'where the hell is the 27th floor??'
so i went inside what i thought was the correct elevator with this minah salleh. WRONG.
the 27 button was there allrite...u just can't press it. after pressing it a few times and being utterly dissapointed that it wouldn't light up...the lady spoke up...
"This can only go to even floors."
what?? even floors? why the hell elevator pun nak memilih even ke odd number ke? belasah je la floor mana pun. wait...don't tell me the elevator sebelah ni only goes to prime numbers, and this one goes only to multiples of 3... "Oh...okay."
"Murphy Oil is it?"
I nodded.
"You have to go to the 26th Floor anyway, that's where the reception is."
what? reception? ko ingat aku dispatch ke? hello...i already contacted them. she's expecting me...she said to go directly to the 27th floor. 27 is 27 lah...not 26 not 25 and certainly no reception... "Ummm...thanks."
so i got off the 26th floor. i went to the reception anyway, to ask if i could use the stairs to get one floor above.
"There's no stairs...u have to use the elevator."
no stairs? mentang2 la high-tech...one of the greatest invention created by mankind since the dawn of civilization pun takde ke??
kalau ada kebakaran camne?
IN CASE OF FIRE PLEASE USE THE WINDOW
now that would be an assuring sign..especially if u're on the 100th floor!
so back i went to the elevator...found the right one, and finally reached the 27th floor. Thank God.
passed the documents, had a bit of a chit chat, done. somehow, the journey out of the building didn't seem so bad at all. seemed somehow like an anticlimax after my misadventures in the Petronas towers. oh well, at least next time i'll know which elevator to take....
