Football Rocks My Brain

I don't give a shit if Man United are coming or not.

First and foremost, though I am not a huge fan the Red Devils, I wouldn't mind them coming to our shores. Seriously.

What irks me is how the situation was dealt with by FAM and the country. I think these two really showed how unprofessional they were, which probably best explains the situation our football team is in.

I don't blame the AFC. Or FIFA. The AFC had a contract with us. We signed it. If you didn't know what the content was, you shouldn't have signed it. Either that or your lawyer really sucks. AFC is part of FIFA. Man United is one of the G-14. No prizes for guessing why FIFA sided with the AFC. Simple logic you morons.

And we're feeling Man United is playing hard to get by declining to re-schedule. Reality, people. Man United is the best supported football team in the world. Wherever they go, people go. You think they have time on their super-busy schedules? Ko ingat ni My Team ke??

And why would Man United want to jeorpadise their relationship with the AFC? Asia is their biggest pot of gold and keeping AFC happy will go a long way at the cash register. So what if they lose a few million in Malaysia? Rather than a billion from the whole continent? They aren't stupid, them Glazers.

So get up from feeling sorry that Man United won't be coming and face the facts. We're the host for the Asian Cup. Be proud that at least we're in the tournament as host nation, coz if we had to earn our place there then I'd be walking my grandchildren before that happens. The Asian Cup is the premier football event in Asia. I don't blame AFC if once in a while we have some time away from European football and look at our own backyard. It happens once in 4 years godamnit, so give 'em a break.

What would it look like to the AFC if everyone is talking about some dumb meaning-less friendly with Man United rather than the Asian Cup final? Have some pride people. Yes, it's Visit Malaysia year. If you feel by hosting the Asian Cup won't be bringing in the tourists, then we shouldn't have offered to host it in the first place. It's all about planning, people. This whole Man United saga just shows how good our people are at it. At least have some dignity and honour your word to the AFC. It's not about sanctions against FAM or whatever. It just shows how we are and how low we can go just for the sake of having extravagant events. Have some balls, FAM.
And I don't mean footballs.
